Electrical Symbols


An Electrical symbol:

is a small picture or image called a pictogram used to represent various electrical and electronic devices (such as wires, batteries, resistors, and transistors) in a schematic diagram of an electrical or electronic circuit.






Electrical symbols

These symbols can vary from country to country, but are today to a large extent internationally standardized. Some symbols became virtually extinct with the development of new technologies.


Usually, when you try to interpret a circuit diagram, all of the electrical symbols will have their own image. If you are unfamiliar with the electronic images.
